Product Description
The Hanna Instruments HI 9813-5N waterproof portable meter with multiparameter probe displays pH, electrical conductivity (EC), and total dissolved solids (TDS) on a large LCD screen for agricultural applications such as hydroponics, greenhouses, farming, and nurseries. The meter has Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) for pH and conductivity measurements. The large LCD screen displays the parameter being measured and calibration instructions. Dials located on front panel make calibration quick and simple, even for non-technical users. The battery error protection system alerts the user if battery power is low to avoid adversely affecting readings. Percentage of battery charge is displayed at meter start-up.
The HI 1285 multiparameter probe has a fiber junction and gel electrolyte for fast response and reduced contamination that is suitable for harsh environments, such as fertilizer solutions. It has an 8-pin DIN (Deutsches Insut für Normung) connector and a 1-meter/3.3-foot cable.
The meter comes with pH buffer calibration solution sachets, calibration solution, electrode cleaning solution, one 9V battery, and a carrying case.

A multiparameter meter is a benchtop or handheld device that can take multiple readings on a single sample. It measures parameters such as the pH level (acidity or alkalinity of a substance), conductivity (the amount of salts or other compounds present in water), dissolved oxygen (DO, the amount of oxygen in a liquid), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS, anything present in water other than the pure water molecule and suspended solids), salinity, resistivity, and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Applications for multiparameter meters include water testing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, winemaking, water-treatment plants, and acquaculture. Devices with a benchtop body often used for indoor laboratory use or in a manufacturing setting; handheld, portable devices typically used for fieldwork. Sensors used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance.
Hanna Instruments manufactures ytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
